Students at The English School of Ulaanbaatar are encouraged to take an active role in shaping the life of the school. Leadership opportunities allow students to develop responsibility, confidence and initiative while contributing positively to the school community.
Leadership roles are available across different year groups and areas of school life, giving students the opportunity to represent their peers, organise activities and support younger students.
Key student leadership roles include:
Student Council
The Student Council provides a forum for students to represent the views of their peers and contribute to school development. Representatives from different year groups meet regularly with staff to discuss ideas, initiatives and improvements that support the student community.
Heads of House
Heads of House are senior students who lead and represent their houses. They support house events, encourage participation in competitions and help build house spirit across the school.
Prefects
Prefects are senior students selected for their leadership, responsibility and positive example. They assist staff in maintaining the values and culture of the school and often support younger students in their daily school life.
Class Leadership Roles
Within each class, students may take on responsibilities such as class representatives or activity leaders. These roles encourage participation, responsibility and the development of leadership skills from an early age.
Through these opportunities, ESU aims to develop confident and responsible young people who are prepared to contribute positively to their communities both within and beyond the school.
