The pastoral care of students at ESU is supported by a dedicated team of staff who work together to ensure that students receive guidance, care and support throughout their school experience.
The pastoral team is responsible for supporting the wellbeing, personal development and safety of all students, helping to create a school environment where every child feels known, valued and supported.
The pastoral team includes:
• Form Tutors, who provide daily guidance and act as the first point of contact for students and families
• Heads of Key Stage or Year, who oversee student progress, wellbeing and behaviour within each section of the school
• Senior Leadership staff, responsible for safeguarding and overall pastoral oversight
• School Psychologist, who provides professional support for students’ emotional wellbeing, learning needs and personal development
• Social Workers, who support students and families where additional care, guidance or welfare support may be required
• School Doctor, who oversees student health, provides medical guidance and supports the wellbeing of the school community
• Administrative staff, who assist with student welfare and communication with families
The pastoral team works closely with parents to ensure that students receive consistent support both at school and at home.
Through strong relationships, careful guidance and a culture of mutual respect, the team helps create an environment where students feel safe, supported and able to thrive both academically and personally.
